Changes of ethnic structure of population of the Republic of Serbian Krajina after its incorporation to Croatia

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá proměnami národnostní struktury na území Chorvatska. V práci je popsána změna složení národnostní struktury především té jeho části, ve které v letech 1991-1995 existoval přechodný státní útvar, Republika Srbská Krajina. Po vyhlášení nezávislého Chorvatska a začátku rozpadu Jugoslávie začíná jugoslávská válka a z chorvatských okresů s velkým počtem či s převažujícím počtem Srbů je následně vytvořena Republika Srbská Krajina, která existovala 4 roky. Po válce, ukončené chorvatskou operací Bouře, Republika Srbská Krajina zaniká a je začleněna do Chorvatska a Srbové utíkají nebo jsou vyhnáni. V roce 1991 proběhlo poslední sčítání lidu před válkou a následně po válce se v roce 2001 a 2011 konala další již v nezávislém Chorvatsku. Počet Srbů v Chorvatsku stále klesá, přestože ústavní zákon o národnostních menšinách garantuje všem národnostem v Chorvatsku stejná práva. Práce zaznamenává tento pokles, který vyvolávají migrace. Rozhodnutí o emigraci či imigraci na území bývalé Srbské Krajiny jsou v práci vysvětleny na konkrétních případech lidí, s nimiž byly provedeny rozhovory.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the changes of the national structure in the territory of Croatia. The thesis describes a change of the national structure, especially that part of it, in which there was transitional state in 1991-1995, Republic of Serbian Krajina. After the announcement of independent Croatia and the beginning of the breakup of Yugoslavia, the Yugoslav War began, and Croatian districts with a large number or with a predominant number of Serbs created the Republic of Serbian Krajina, which existed for 4 years. After the war, which ended with the Croatian Operation Storm, the Republic of Serbian Krajina expires and is incorporated into Croatia, and the Serbs flee or are expelled. In 1991, the last census took place before the war, and after the war in 2001 and 2011, another took place in independent Croatia. The number of Serbs in Croatia is still decreasing despite the fact that the Constitutional Act on National Minorities guarantees the same rights for all nations in Croatia. The thesis records this decline, which causes migration. Decisions on emigration or immigration on the territory of the former Serbian Region are explained at the specific cases of people interviewed.
