Anotácia:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na GLBT tématiku v britských divadelních hrách označovaných jako In-Yer-Face theatre (u nás také Cool drama). Protože tato tématika je středem pozornosti většiny her zmíněné éry, byl stanoven podrobnější cíl – zjistit, zda existují společné rysy, které ovlivňují či utváří mužskou identitu se zřetelem na homosexuálně orientované muže. Základní texty, které byly analyzovány a interpretovány, jsou Penetrator Anthony Neilsona a Some Explicit Polaroids Marka Ravenhilla. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První se zabývá cool dramatem obecně a zprostředkovává čtenáři stručný přehled významných autorů a jejich her a dále představuje některé klíčové pojmy z oblasti utváření mužské identity. Druhá se pak věnuje výše uvedeným hrám a rozvíjí předpokládanou tezi: hledání identity skrze sex, násilí a emoční blízkost.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on queer aspects in British in-yer-face theatre. Since these aspects are the focal points of majority of the in-yer-face plays a further aim was set: to examine if there are any similar features which influence or form a male identity with regard to gay oriented men. The basic texts which were analysed and interpreted are Antony Neilson’s Penetrator and Mark Ravenhill’s Some Explicit Polaroids. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first deals with In-yer-face theatre in general and gives the reader a brief overview of its significant authors and plays and it also introduces a theoretical background dealing with forming a male identity, the second part is devoted to the aforementioned plays and develops the anticipated thesis of searching for identity through sex, violence and emotional closeness.
