The Function and the Purpose of the Central Securities Depository

Abstract:

The aim of bachelors work is to explain the position and the function of the central depositary in the securities system on the territory of the Slovak republic. The work comprises general information about the activities and the manner of provision of services of the central depositary, description of the respective services, which the central depositary provides to the owners and issuers of securities, comparison of the Slovak central depositary with depositaries in selected EU countries, description of the planned interconnection for the settlement of transactions with securities on the platform Target2-Securities, and a statistical overview on performances carried out.

Abstract:

Cieľom bakalárskej práce je charakterizovať postavenie a funkcie centrálneho depozitára v systéme cenných papierov na území Slovenskej republiky. Práca obsahuje všeobecné informácie o činnosti a spôsobe poskytovania služieb centrálneho depozitára, opisy konkrétnych služieb, ktoré centrálny depozitár poskytuje majiteľom a emitentom cenných papierov, porovnanie slovenského centrálneho depozitára s depozitármi vybraných krajín Európskej únie, opis plánovaného prepojenia vysporiadania obchodov s cennými papiermi v platforme Target2-Securities a štatistický prehľad o realizovaných výkonoch.
