Radon in the historical underground of Jihlava City

Abstract:

Abstrakt Cílem diplomové práce řešené v rámci projektu FR-TI1/482 MPO ČR „Monitorovací systém měření aktivity radonu a jeho rozpadových produktů v podzemních pracovních prostorách“ a výzkumného záměru MSM0021622427 „Interdisciplinární centrum výzkumů sociálních struktur pravěku až vrcholného středověku…“ je sledování koncentrací a distribuce radonu v atmosféře středověkého historického podzemí města Jihlavy. Naměřené hodnoty objemové aktivity radonu v podzemních prostorách se pohybují v řádech i několika tisíc Bq/m3. Provedená měření potvrdila zařazení historického jádra města Jihlavy do oblasti s vysokým radonovým rizikem.

Abstract:

Abstract This thesis is written within the scope of FR-TI1/482 MPO project called “ The Monitoring system of radon aktivity measurements and radon’s decay products in the underground working areas” and MSM0021622427 research plan called “ Cross -disciplinary center dealing with the research of social structures from Primeval ages to the Middle ages culmination …“ The main goal of the thesis is to observe the concentration and distribution of radon in the atmosphere of medieval historical Jihlava’s underground. The measured levels of volume aktivity of radon in the underground areas vary in the order of value of as many as several thousands of Bq/m3. The executed measurements ratified the fact that Jihlava’s historical center is qualified as an area with a high level of radon risk.
