Criticism of society and its depiction in filmography of director Uwe Boll

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se bude zabývat filmografii režiséra Uweho Bolla, zejména snímky obsahujícími kritiku společnosti a témata s výrazným sociálním přesahem. V úvodu práce student představí celkovou filmografii režiséra, režijní metody, techniky a témata, se kterými pracuje. V praktické části se bude věnovat neoformalistickým analýzám vybraných snímků, akcentovat přitom bude zejména režijní styl a scenáristické metody, pomocí nichž Uwe Boll utváří narativní výstavbu daného filmového díla. Cílem práce je na základě analýz doložit, jakým způsobem pracuje režisér Uwe Boll se sociálními tématy, zejména v souvislosti s prací s kamerou, scénářem a střihovou skladbou.

Abstract:

Bachelor ‘s thesis will focus on filmography of director Uwe Boll, especially on movies containing criticism of society and topics with strong social overlap. In the beginning the student will introduce generally the filmography of the director, directorial methods, techniques and topics with which the director works. In the practical part, the student will engage in neoformalistic analyses of selected movies concentrated on directorial style and scriptwriting methods by which Uwe Boll creates narrative structure of a given film work. Aim of the thesis is to prove based on the analyses, how director Uwe Boll works with social themes, especially in connection with camera work, script and editing composition.
