Success of the didactic methods employed by teacher's assistants working with students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá úspěšností didaktických metod uplatňovaných asistenty pedagoga při práci s žáky s poruchami autistického spektra. Cílem je charakterizovat metody nejčastěji využívané asistenty pedagoga v systému českého školství a určit, na kterou z nich je žáky reagováno nejlépe. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. V první části jsou prezentovány poznatky z odborných zdrojů, je zde definováno základní pojmosloví týkající se poruch autistického spektra. Dále se práce zabývá etiologií a diagnostikou PAS. Popisuje didaktické postupy aplikované asistenty pedagoga ve vzdělávacím a výchovném procesu na základě principů strukturovaného učení. V praktické části jsou uvedeny získané výsledky výzkumného šetření zaměřené na četnost použití jednotlivých metod a jakou odezvu mělo uplatnění daných metod u dětí s PAS. Dále je vysvětleno, jakým způsobem byly výsledky zjišťovány a čím mohly být ovlivněny. Získané poznatky jsou doplněny o doporučení pro praxi asistentů pedagogů pracujících s dětmi s PAS, kteří uplatňují metody strukturovaného učení.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is specialized on the success of the didactic methods applied by the teacher's assistants working with pupils diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The aim of this thesis is characterized the most frequently used methods by teacher´s assistants in the Czech education system and to determine which of those methods will most likely taken with positive reaction by pupils with ASD. The thesis is organized into two parts. In the first part is processing knowledge acquire from professional resources and defining the fundamental terminology concerning autistic spectrum disorders. It also deals with etiology and diagnostics ASD. Although there are described didactic methods applied by teacher´s assistants during the upbringing the children and in their educational process based on the principles of structured learning. The second, empirical, part presents the results achieved from the own actual research focused on the frequency of the used particular methods and how children with ASD response to them. Moreover, it explained how the results were collected and what might affect them. The acquired informations are supplemented of a recommendation to teacher´s assistants working with children with ASD who are using structured learning to improve their work.
