Migration motivation and the expectation of migrants in relation to the life in European Union

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá motivací migrantů k podstoupení cesty na vnější hranice Evropské unie v oblasti Středozemního moře a jejich očekáváním v souvislosti s životem v Evropě. Práce je dále zaměřena na analýzu vzájemné interakce debriefera a migranta v procesu debriefingu, který je zdrojem informací vztahujících se k migraci. Teoretická část si klade za cíl zmapovat fenomén současné migrace, její pozitivní a negativní dopady. Zaměřuje se na vymezení základních pojmů a na popsání vzájemné interakce osob dle Goffmanova přístupu. Praktická část je realizována pomocí analýzy dokumentů na případové úrovni, kdy analýza získaných dat byla provedena metodou zakotvené teorie. Vzájemná interakce mezi debrieferem a migrantem byla analyzována na základě interakčního dramaturgického přístupu E. Goffmana.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the motivation of migrants to undertake the journey across the external borders of the European Union in the Mediterranean area, their expectations in relation to the life in Europe. The thesis i salso focused on the analysis of mutual interaction of debriefer and migrant during debriefing proces, which is a source of information related to migration. The teoretical part aims at mapping the phenomenon of the current migratory crisis. Its positive and negative impacts. It focuses on defining basic concepts and describing the interaction of people according to Goffman´s approach. The practical part is realized by analyzing documents on the case level. The analysis of the obtained data was done by the method of the grounded theory. The interaction between debriefer and the migrant was analyzed on the basis of Goffman´s interactive dramaturgical approach.
