Perfect pitch from the perspective of the contemporary musical practice

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o problematice absolutního sluchu, a to jak z hlediska teoretického, tak praktického. Pro uvedení do problému je za potřebí nejdříve definovat hudební sluch, z pohledu zejména psychologie a fyziologie. Stěžejní kapitola práce pojednává o absolutním sluchu jako jevu hudební psychologie a o aspektech s ním souvisejících. Další část práce se zabývá výhodami a nevýhodami absolutního sluchu pro jeho majitele. Současný pohled na téma je zastoupen především souhrnem výzkumů a studií provedených v posledních pěti letech. Teoretickou část práce pak doplňuje vlastní výzkum, jehož respondenty jsou hudebníci s absolutním sluchem.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of perfect pitch, both from the theoretical and practical point of view. In order to present the topic, there is first necessary to define a musical context from perspective of psychology and physiology. The main chapter engages in perfect pitch as a phenomenon of the musical psychology and in its related aspects. The next part looks into the advantages and disadvantages of the perfect pitch for its possessors. The current view of the topic is mainly represented by a summary of researches and studies carried out in the last five years. The theoretical part of the thesis is supplemented by an own research, of which respondents are musicians with the perfect pitch.
