Karel Nepraš – Dialogues with the absurdes

Abstract:

Významný český sochař a grafik Karel Nepraš byl představitelem české figurativní sochařské generace 20. století, jejíž tvorba nesla výrazné znaky grotesky a černého humoru. Většinovým námětem jeho děl byl člověk na hranici existenciální osamělosti, stojící proti nesmyslnosti vládnoucího systému, kterému se snažil vzdorovat. Cílem této bakalářské práce je pokus o analýzu tří děl tohoto sochaře, jejichž námětem jsou komunikační situace. Dialog jako téma, procházelo celou tvorbou Karla Nepraše. Proti tomuto dialogu stavíme absurdno, jako nesmysl vycházející z pocitů lidské prázdnoty a beznaděje ze samotného lidského bytí, ale i z prostředí v kterém člověk musí žít.

Abstract:

The important Czech sculptor and graphic artist Karel Nepraš was the representative of the Czech figurative sculptural generation 20. century, whose creation bore the distinctive characters of slapstick and black humor. The majority of the main theme of his works was the man on the border of existential loneliness, standing against the meaninglessness of the controlling system, which tried to resist. The aim of this thesis is an attempt to analysis of the three works of this sculptor, whose theme are the communication situation. Dialogue as the theme, there was a formation of Karel Nepraš. Against this dialogue, we build the absurdity of such nonsense emanating from the human feelings of emptiness and the hopelessness of the human being, but also of the environment in which one must live.
