The incidence of postpartum depression of women in the puerperium

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem práce bylo zjistit výskyt poporodní deprese u žen v šestinedělí ve vybraných gynekologických ambulancích v Ostravě. Dále zjistit, zda věk, parita, vzdělání, rodinný stav žen a typ těhotenství má vliv na vznik poporodní deprese. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 186 žen navštěvujících soukromou gynekologickou ambulanci MUDr. Karla Buchty, Gyncentrum Ostrava, s.r.o a gynekologickou ambulanci Vítkovické nemocnice, a.s. Výzkumné šetření bylo realizováno pomocí standardizované Edinburské škály postnatální deprese od 1. 7. do 31. 12. 2015. Výsledky: Výzkumným šetřením bylo zjištěno, že 42 % respondentek spadá do kategorie s rizikem výskytu poporodní deprese. Pouze 3 % žen byly označené jako vysoce rizikové, kde je velmi vysoká pravděpodobnost vzniku deprese po porodu. Dále bylo zjištěno, že věk (p-hodnota ? 0,83), parita (p-hodnota ? 0,93), vzdělání (p-hodnota ? 0,23), rodinný stav (p-hodnota ? 0,15) a typ těhotenství (p-hodnota ? 0,65) nemají vliv na vznik poporodní deprese. Přesto nejvyšší výskyt rizika byl u skupiny žen ve věku 21-32 let, rozvedených matek a žen se základním vzděláním. Závěr: Ženy s rizikem výskytu poporodní deprese tvoří nezanedbatelné procento. Proto jako zdravotní pracovníci bychom měli věnovat více času péči o psychické zdraví svých klientek. Součástí zdravotní péče o ženu by mělo být vyhledávání a sledování žen s rizikem vzniku deprese po porodu.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the thesis was to determine the incidence of postpartum depression among women, during puerperium, in chosen gynecological ambulances in Ostrava. Furthermore, to determine whether age, parity, education, marital status and type of women's pregnancy affects the formation of postpartum depression. Methodology: The research sample consisted of 186 women, visiting a private gynecological ambulance of MD. Karel Buchta, Gyncentrum Ostrava, s.r.o and gynecological ambulance Vítkovická nemocnice, a.s. The research was carried out using standardized Edinburgh postpartum depression scale from 17th July to 31st December 2015. Results: Research found that 42% of respondents fall into the category of risk of postpartum depression. Only 3% of women were classified as high risk which means a very high probability of developing depression after childbirth. It was also found that age (p-value ? 0.83), parity (p-value ? 0.93), education (p-value ? 0.23), marital status (p-value ? 0.15) and type of pregnancy (p-value ? 0.65) do not affect the incidence of postpartum depression. Although, the highest incidence of risk was found among women aged 21-32 years, divorced mothers and women with elementary education. Conclusion: A significant percentage is created of women with risk factors for suffering postpartum depression. Therefore, as health professionals, we should devote more time to mental health care of our clients. Searching and monitoring women at risk of postpartum depression should be the part of woman?s health care.
