Ladislav Havránek as a part of the new pedagogy

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis focuses on teacher Ladislav Havránek (1884 – 1961) who dedicated his life to pedagogical work with children of early-school and school age. The main object of this work is to describe Havránek’s career and to create a complete inventory of his publications. This document also presents his teachings methods and their bases – observations of the child’s development in all domains of their skills and movement in combination with physical senses. It tries to show that these methods can be used very well also for the children with special education needs or with mental handicaps. A creative workshop of folk pottery in Všelisy named Lidová malírna and about seventy textbooks and books written by Havránek or by Havránek and Ferdinand Krch (Cœur), his great friend, are presented to create the integral illustration of Havránek’s versatility. It is also necessary for this thesis to show the success of Havránek’s methods in France. It is the reason to present Lída Durdíková, her husband Paul Faucher, the founder and director of the Albums du Père Castor edition, and Jean-Michel Guilcher, translator and the last witness of the collaboration between Ladislav Havránek and the Albums du Père Castor edition.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o učiteli Ladislavu Havránkovi (1884 – 1961), jenž zasvětil svůj život pedagogické práci s dětmi předškolního a mladšího školního věku. Jejím základním účelem je vykreslit Havránkův profesní životopis a vytvořit ucelený soupis jeho díla. Dále popisuje jeho učební metody a pokouší se poukázat hlavně na jejich základ – pozorování vývoje dítěte ve všech doménách jeho dovedností a spojení pohybu s tělesnými smysly. Práce se snaží ukázat i to, že tyto metody jsou velice dobře použitelné i pro děti se speciálními učebními potřebami nebo mentálním handicapem. Pro ucelení představy o Havránkově všestrannosti je důležitá zmínka o Lidové malírně ve Všelisích, tvořivé dílně lidové keramiky, a také krátké představení sedmdesátky učebnic a knížek pro děti, které Havránek navrhl sám nebo za spolupráce s Ferdinandem Krchem, svým velkým přítelem. Neméně důležité je i představení jeho spolupracovníků podílejících se na úspěchu metod ve Francii – Lídy Durdíkové, jejího manžela Paula Fauchera, zakladatele a ředitele edice Albums du Père Castor, a Jeana-Michela Guilchera, překladatele a posledního pamětníka Havránkovy spolupráce s Albums du Père Castor.
