Communication Skills of Workers in the Tourism Sector with Focus on Accommodation Services

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na komunikační dovednosti zaměstnanců v oboru hotelnictví. Cílem dané bakalářské práce je na základě požadavků zaměstnavatelů na komunikační dovednosti zaměstnanců a pomoci literární rešerše předních českých a zahraničních autorů analyzovat současný stav komunikačních dovedností zaměstnanců zvolených podniků a navrhnout opatření v této oblasti. Hlavními metodami použitými v práci jsou: literární rešerše, provedení řízených rozhovorů s manažery podniků, porovnávací analýza požadavků na komunikační dovednosti malých a středních podniků, syntéza. Hlavním praktickým přínosem práce je vymezení rozdílů mezi požadavky na komunikační dovednosti zaměstnanců velkých a malých hotelů. Dále též práce poskytne odpověď na otázku, zda odborné vzdělání hraje významnou roli při zhodnocení komunikačních dovedností zaměstnanců či nikoliv.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the communication skills of employees in the hotel industry. The aim of the bachelor thesis is the following: based on the requirements of employers on communication skills of employees and with the help literature review of Czech and foreign authors to analyze the current state of the communication skills of employees in the selected hotels and suggest measures in this area. The main methods used in the thesis are: literature review, structured interviews with managers of hotels, comparative analysis of the requirements for the communication skills of employees, synthesis. The main practical benefit of this work is to define the differences between the requirements on communication skills of employees of large and small hotels. Further work also provides answer to the question, whether special education plays an important role in the evaluation of communication skills of employees or not.
