Forest stand modeling and characterization using aerial and terrestrial photogrammetry

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá technologií inventarizace lesa z fotogrammetrického mračna bodů. Práce se zabývá sběrem dat o porostu pomocí pozemní a letecké fotogrammetrie. Následně popisuje zpracování dat v softwaru Agisoft PhotoScan a odvození základních porostních charakteristik pomocí automatizované metody v softwaru ArcMap. Na základě automatizovaných metod byly vypočteny výčetní tloušťky a výšky jednotlivých stromů a vypočtena zásoba dřevní hmoty. Odvozené porostní charakteristiky byly srovnány s pravými hodnotami měřenými v porostu konvenčními metodami. Při odhadu porostních charakteristik bylo dosaženo RMSE 1,5 m u výšek stromů, 2,9 cm u výčetních tlouštěk a 0,14 m3 u zásoby dřevní hmoty.

Abstract:

The master ‘s thesis focused on forest inventory process based on the photogrammetric point cloud. The master ‘s thesis deals with forest stand data collecting using terrestrial and aerial photogrammetry. The master ‘s thesis describes data processing in the Agisoft PhotoScan and the basic stand characteristics estimation using the automated methods in the ArcMap. Based on automated methods, the diameter at breast height, tree height and the stand volume were estimated. Estimated stand characteristics were compared with ground true data. The estimation of the stand characteristics was achieved with RMSE 1,5 m error of the tree height, 2,9 cm error of the DBH and 0,14 m3 of the stand volume.
