Bachelor thesis focuses on two great norwegian figures, Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson and Edvard Grieg. In the first part is described the social and cultural context of the time period during which both men lived, the other half of the 19th century, as well as what influenced these two authors, the themes and motifs in their work. Bakalárska práca sa venuje dvom nórskym velikánom, Bjørnstjernovi Bjørnsonovi a Edvardovi Griegovi. V jej prvej časti sa rozoberá kultúrny a spoločenský kontext doby, v ktorej žili, teda druhej polovice 19.storočia, tak ako aj to, čo ovplyvnilo týchto autorov, témy a motívy v ich diele.
