Charter 77 and the Anti-Charter and their reflection in Slovakia

Abstract:

V práci jsou studovány příčiny vzniku Charty 77, její struktura, vývoj a dokumenty. Dále je zmapován vliv Charty 77 na disent i širší občanskou společnost v Československu koncem 70. a v průběhu 80. let minulého století. Práce popisuje reakci komunistického režimu na činnost Charty, která vyvrcholila v tzv. Antichartě. V práci je porovnán ohlas Charty 77 v Českých zemích a na Slovensku. Jsou zde rovněž shrnuty výsledky praktického výzkumu odrazu Charty ve svazcích slovenské ŠtB.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis studies the origin of Charter 77, its structure, development and documents. It is follows the impact of Charter 77 on dissent and the wider civil society in Czechoslovakia in the late 70's and during the 80's. The thesis describes the reaction of the communist regime to the activities of the Charter, which culminated in so called Anti-Charter. The thesis compares the response to Charter 77 in Czech lands and Slovakia. It also contains the results of a practical research of reflection of the Charter in files of the Slovak secret police.
