Problematics of crime and violence in Honduras

Abstract:

Abstrakt Cílem mé bakalářské práce je popsat problematiku organizovaného zločinu a kriminality, ve druhým největším státě Střední Ameriky, Hondurasu. V Hondurasu největší kriminalitu vykonávají gangy. Pokud ovšem mluvíme o Hondurasu, nejedná se jenom o kriminalitu, ale tento stát sužují i další rozvojové problémy. V teoretické části jsou popsány základní definice organizovaného zločinu a typy skupin. Dále se zabývám nejznámějšími gangy Hondurasu, MS 13 a M 18. Na závěr zkoumám politické nástroje a opatření, které mají potlačit kriminalitu v zemi a jejich účinnost. Abstract The aim of my bachelor thesis is to describe the issue of organized crime and criminality, in the second largest state in Central America, Honduras. In Honduras, the biggest crime is committed by gangs. However, if we talk about Honduras, it is not just about crime, but it is also narrowed by other development problems. The theoretical part describes the basic definitions of organized crime and types of groups. I also deal with the most famous gangs in Honduras, MS 13 and M 18. Finally, I examine the policy instruments and measures to curb crime in the country and their effectiveness.
