Barriers in the coexistence of the Gypsy minority and the Czech majority

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou soužití romské menšiny a české společnosti. V teoretické části jsou popsány základní interkulturní pojmy vztahující se k problematice etnických menšin, postoje příslušníků majority k příslušníkům minority a vymezen základní legislativní rámec, který se týká národního i mezinárodního práva v této problematice. Dále se práce věnuje bariérám v soužití romské minority a většinové české majority. Praktická část práce je věnována výzkumnému šetření, provedenému pomocí dotazníků. Popisuje výzkum a jeho metodiku, charakterizuje výzkumný vzorek a dotazníkové otázky a dále pak zpracovává a předkládá vyzkoumaná data.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with coexistence problems of the Roma minority and the Czech society. In the theoretical part, there are described the basic intercultural concepts related to the problems of ethnic minorities, the attitudes of majority members to minority members and definition of basic legislative framework concerning national and international law in this area. Furthermore, the thesis concerns barriers in coexistence of the Roma minority and the major Czech majority. The practical part is devoted to a research carried out through questionnaires. It describes the research and its methodology and characterizes the research sample and questionnaire questions and further compiles and submits discovered data.
