Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá vývojom trhu práce na Slovensku a v okrese Považská Bystrica za obdobie 2006 – 2009. Opisuje kategórie trhu práce – zamestnanosť, nezamestnanosť, hodnotí vývoj trhu práce na Slovensku v porovnaní s trhom práce v EÚ. Bližšie charakterizuje región Považskej Bystrice.
