Toothbrush wear based on toothbrushing technique

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of toothbrush wear based on toothbrushing technique in different age categories. The bachelor's thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with proper oral hygiene, describes the length and frequency of toothbrushing, toothbrushing force, toothbrushing techniques and undesirable consequences of toothbrushing. It describes the ideal shape of a toothbrush, including its filaments, and deals with the care of toothbrushes. Subsequently, the practical part includes a study describing the problem of toothbrush wear. The study includes twelve respondents divided by specific toothbrushing technique and age category. Subjects of the study are three different toothbrushes, which were used by the respondents for three months. The condition of the toothbrush was documented after every month of use. Furthermore, the work compares the toothbrush wear in each toothbrushing category and each age category, and determines the toothbrush wear index and wear rating.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá problematikou opotrebenia zubných kefiek v závislosti od techniky čistenia zubov u rôznych vekových kategórií. Práca je rozdelená na teoretickú a praktickú časť. V úvode teoretickej časti sa práca zaoberá správnou ústnou hygienou, opisuje dĺžku a frekvenciu čistenia zubov, tlak na zubnú kefku, jednotlivé metódy čistenia a nežiadúce dôsledky vzniknuté na základe čistenia zubov. Popisuje ideálny tvar zubnej kefky, vrátane vlákien a zaoberá sa starostlivosťou o zubné kefky. Praktická časť sa venuje štúdii opisujúcej opotrebenie zubnej kefky. Súčasťou štúdie sú dvanásti respondenti rozdelení na základe jednotlivej techniky čistenia zubov a následne na základe vekovej kategórie. Predmetom štúdie sú tri rozdielne zubné kefky, ktoré respondenti používali po dobu troch mesiacov. Po každom mesiaci používania bol stav zubnej kefky zdokumentovaný. Následne práca porovnáva opotrebovanie zubných kefiek u daných respondentov v rámci každej vekovej skupiny, jednotlivé zubné kefky medzi sebou a určuje mieru a index opotrebovania zubných kefiek.
