Adaptation course as a tool for bullying prevention in secondary schools

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na využití adaptačního kurzu (AK) jako nástroje prevence šikany na středních školách. Tematická analýza rozhovorů s respondenty odhalila, že AK je vnímán jako účinný nástroj primární prevence, ačkoliv hlavním cílem je pro respondenty vzájemné seznámení, prolomení ledů a vytvoření společných vzpomínek. Další výsledky výzkumu ukazují, že AK umožňuje identifikaci a řešení problémů včas, což je klíčové pro prevenci šikany. Výzkum navrhuje začlenění reflexe, aktivit na řešení konfliktů, spolupráci a budování norem do pro-gramu adaptačního programu. Výsledky nabízejí užitečné poznatky pro pedagogy, psychology a další organizátory AK, a mohou sloužit jako inspirace pro realizaci adaptačního kurzu.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis examines the potential of an adaptation course (AC) as a tool for bullying prevention in secondary schools. A thematic analysis of inter-views with respondents revealed that an adaptation course is perceived as an effective primary prevention tool, although the main goal for respondents is to get to know each other, break the ice and create shared memories. Other research fin-dings indicate that an adaptation course allows the identification and resolution of problems early on, which is key to bullying prevention. The research proposes the incorporation of reflection, conflict resolution activities, collaboration and norm building into an adaptation course plan may be beneficial. The results offer useful insights for educators, psychologists and other AC organisers, and can serve as inspiration for implementing any adaptation course.
