Pitfalls of digital transformation in organizations

Abstract:

Digitální transformace společností je náročný úkol, který je dnes nezbytností, ale v několika případech představuje riziko neúspěchu, z důvodů nedostatku kompetencí a porozumění pro nové digitální procesy a technologie. Aby se tyto neznalosti předcházelo, je potřebná trvalá dostupnost dat přes internet a přístup k nim prostřednictvím prohlížečů. Tato část infrastruktury a dalších platforem musí být nejen podřízeným softwarem, ale také produkty, obchodními procesy a obchodními modely v budoucnu, mají-li být použity smysluplně nebo být úspěšné v konkurenci. Hlavním cílem této práce bilo poukázat na pozitiva, ale zároveň negativa zavádění digitálních prostředků do prostředí malých a středních firem, přičemž by digitalizace měla v optimálním případě probíhat v součinnosti s dalšími subjekty tak, aby na rychle se měnící podmínky mohli reagovat nejen dodavatelé a subdodavatelé firem, ale také zákazníci a další spolupracující subjekty. Provedený výzkum si kladl za cíl především zjistit, v jakých oblastech respondenti vnímají největší překážky v procesu digitalizace a zároveň bylo zjišťováno, zdali v přístupu k procesu digitalizace existují rozdíly v závislosti na velikosti firmy a na odvětví, kterému se firma věnuje.

Abstract:

The digital transformation of companies is a challenging task that is a necessity today, but in several cases poses a risk of failure due to a lack of competence and understanding for new digital processes and technologies. In order to prevent this ignorance, the permanent availability of data via the internet and access through browsers is required. This part of the infrastructure and other platforms must be not only subordinate software, but also products, business processes and business models in the future if they are to be used meaningfully or be successful in competition. The main goal of this work was to point out the positives, but also the negatives of the introduction of digital resources in the environment of small and medium-sized companies, while digitization should optimally take place in cooperation with other entities so that not only suppliers and subcontractors can respond to rapidly changing conditions. but also customers and other cooperating entities. The aim of the research was to find out in which areas the respondents perceive the biggest obstacles in the process of digitization and at the same time it was found out whether there are differences in the approach to the digitization process depending on the size of the company and the industry.
