Local-Global Principle

Abstract:

V této práci je zpracován důkaz Hasseho-Minkowského věty nad racionálními čísly, která říká, že libovolná kvadratická forma s racionálními koeficienty vyjadřuje nulu v tělese racionálních čísel, právě když ji vyjadřuje v tělese reálných čísel a v tělese p-adických čísel pro každé prvočíslo p. V první kapitole jsou zavedena tělesa s normou a jejich zúplnění. Dále je zde dokázáno Henselovo lemma a definován pojem lokálních těles. Ve druhé kapitole jsou zavedena globální tělesa a je zde ukázán jejich vztah s lokálními tělesy. V poslední kapitole studujeme kvadratické formy nad konečnými, lokálními a globálními tělesy a zabýváme se problémem vyjádřitelnosti nuly kvadratickými formami. V závěru práce je pak s využitím již odvozených výsledků dokázána Hasseho-Minkowského věta nad racionálními čísly.

Abstract:

This thesis concerns with the proof of the Hasse-Minkowski theorem over the rational numbers, which states that every quadratic form represents zero in the field of rational numbers if and only if it represents zero in the field of real numbers and in the field of p-adic numbers for every prime p. In the first chapter there are defined valuated fields and their completions. Further, there is proven Hensel's lemma and defined the notion of local fields. In the second chapter there are defined global fields and there is described their relation to local fields. In the last chapter we study quadratic forms over finite, local and global fields and we deal with the problem of representability of zero by quadratic forms. Finally, using previous results there is proven the Hasse-Minkowski theorem over the rational numbers.
