The role of service dog in criminology

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá použitím služebního psa v kriminalistice. Cílem je zejména přiblížení tématu pro širokou veřejnost a jeho ucelené pojetí. V první části práce jsou popsány jednotlivé obory, které používají práci služebních psů. Další část se věnuje samotným služebním psům, jejich rozdělení, jednotlivým plemenům, výchově a způsobům výcviku, které jsou potřebné pro výkon služby. Podstatná část práce se zabývá výcvikem služebních psů, kteří jsou určeni pro výkon metody pachové identifikace. Dále je popsán proces, který směřuje k výkonu práce psovoda. Bakalářská práce detailně popisuje způsoby, jakými jsou využívány služební psi v kriminalistice a samotnou metodu pachové identifikace, která má pro kriminalistiku značný význam. V závěrečné části práce se nachází případová analýza, vztahující se k danému tématu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the usage of a service dog in criminology. The primary aim of the thesis is the further introduction of the role a service dog has in this field to the general public. The focus in the first part of the work is on the individual departments which use said service dogs. The second part describes the dogs and their division, the selection of breeds and also the way in which they are raised and trained in order to perform in the service. A huge part of the thesis is concentrated around a special kind of service dogs who are trained for odor identification. Then following is a description of the process that leads to the work of a handler. The bachelor thesis describes in detail the usage of service dogs in the criminology field and also the odor identification technique, which is of great importance. In the final part of the work there is a case study which is related to the given topic.
