The rehabilitation of a patient with congenital hip dysplasia following multiple surgeries: case report

Abstract:

In this thesis we will deal with a patient suffering from congenital hip dysplasia following multiple hip replacement surgeries both left and right. Congenital hip dysplasia is a congenital joint malformation, caused by an irregular development of the hip joint, such as to cause progressive displacement of the femoral head from the acetabular cavity. Usually in a patient with congenital hip dysplasia, he has an incontinent, more vertical acetabulum, with an anteverted femur and a loose capsule. For this reason, the consequence is that the limb will become more and more rigid, decreasing the ability to reduce dislocation, bringing the joint to continuous disarticulation and assisting in the reduction of the abduction movement and shortening of the limb.

Abstract:

In questa tesi si tratter? di una paziente affetta da displasiacongenita dell'anca in seguito a molteplici interventi chirurgici di protesizzazione d'anca sia sinistra che destra. La displasia congenita dell'anca ? una malformazione articolare di tipo congenita,determinata da uno sviluppoirregolare dell'articolazione dell'anca, tale da determinare un progressivo dislocamento della testa femorale dalla cavit? acetabolare. Di norma in un paziente con displasia congenita dell'anca, presenta un acetabolo incontinente, pi? verticale, con il femore antiverso e la capsula lassa. Per questo la conseguenzache si ha, ? che l'arto diverr? sempre pi? rigidodiminuendo la capacit? di ridurre la lussazione, portando l'articolazione alla continua disarticolazione e assistendo alla riduzione del movimento di abduzione e accorciamento dell'arto
