Abstract:

Typografie je způsob, jakým je možné napsané myšlence propůjčit vizuální formu. Je jedním z nejvýznamnějších prvků, které tvoří charakter a emoční vlastnosti designu. Tvary písmen mohou dokonce zesílit emocionální závažnost textu. Rozmanitost písem a různé způsoby jejich použití v designu dokážou obohatit nebo pozměnit význam všech slov, která jsou písmem vysázená. Styl, jakým jsou znaky vytvořeny a prezentovány, mění naše vnímání prezentovaných myšlenek. Přestože jsou dostupné tisíce různých písem, někdy bývá nutné vytvořit nějaké nové. Fonty se dají vytvářet mnoha různými způsoby – od vytvoření původního díla přes zreprodukování písma ze starší publikace až po načrtnutí a posléze vytvoření písma v příslušném programu na tvorbu písem. Motivací k podstoupení tohoto úsilí je většinou touha vytvořit jedinečné typografické řešení ušité na míru konkrétnímu projektu. A se stejnou motivací přistupuji k diplomové práci „Noc s Holanem – typografické řešení básnické skladby Noc s Hamletem básníka Vladimíra Holana“ i já. Práce je ve své praktické části právě pokusem o netypické typografické řešení a zároveň rekonstrukcí spálených rukopisných předloh.

Abstract:

Typography is a method, which helps to give a written thought a visual form. It is one of the most significant elements, which creates a character of an emotional feature of design. Shapes of the letters can even intensify emotional importance of the text. Diversity of letters and various ways of their usage in design enrich or change meaning of all the words, which are created by the letters. Style, in which symbols are created and presented, changes our perception of presented ideas. Because there are thousands of different letters available, sometimes there is a need to create new ones. There are many ways in which new fonts can be created – from creation of the original work through reproduction of writing from an older publication to sketch and afterwards creation of writing in relevant program. This effort motivates because of desire to create a unique solution, which would suit precisely a particular project. And the same motivation is important to my thesis Night with Holan – typographic solution of poetic composition Night with Hamlet from a poet Vladimir Holan. The practical part of the thesis deals with untypical typographical solution and at the same time it is a reconstruction of the burned manuscripts.
