Reporting for decision making support

Abstract:

Obsah diplomové práce představuje souhrn problematiky Business Intelligence a její role v rámci systémů pro podporu rozhodování a oboru reportingu. Teoretická část má rešeršní charakter. Zde je rozebírána problematika Business Intelligence dle odborné literatury. Také jsou zde obecně popsány systémy pro podporu rozhodování, dále je v této části pojednáváno o metodách reportingu, současném stavu Business Intelligence a jejím možném vývoji. Praktická část obsahuje vícekriteriální analýzu reportingových nástrojů a následně sestavené reporty ve vybraných reportingových nástrojích. V této části je pak provedena komparace několika reportingových nástrojů na základě zvolených kritérií. Komparace je provedena pomocí vícekriteriální analýzy variant. Volba kritérií, jejich ohodnocení pro spočtení vah a finální ohodnocení reportingových nástrojů pro bodovací metodu vícekriteriální analýzy a metodu váženého součtu, byla provedena na základě metody focus group, které se účastnilo šest expertů v oboru Business Intelligence z praxe.

Abstract:

The content of the final thesis presents a summarization of the Business Intelligence field and it‘s role considering decision making support systems as well as the field of reporting. The theoretical part of this thesis is structured as a literature overview. Business Intelligence is explained in the center of this part according to scientific literature. There are also described decision making support systems in general, as are the methods of reporting, following at the end of this part, the current state of Business Intelligence and its possible development are presented. Within the practical part lies multiple-criteria decision analysis of reporting tools as is the design of a report based on the results of this analysis. In this part the comparation of the reporting tools is created according to the selected criteria. The comparation is based on multiple-criteria decision analysis. The selection of criteria, evaluation and the final scoring of the reporting tools is based on scoring method of multi-criteria decision analysis and further by method of weighted sum; this was accomplished in the accordance with focus group method. In this focus group were six professionals from the field of Business Intelligence.
