Advancement of unemployment and its structure in selected region (former Region of Ústí nad Labem)

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje demografickému vývoji ústeckého okresu od 60. let 20. století. Kromě obecných demografických statistik se zabývá také věkovou a vzdělanostní strukturou obyvatel. Analyzuje obecně trh práce a zaměřuje se na vývoj nezaměstnanosti v bývalém okrese Ústí nad Labem. Práce se dále věnuje změnám ve strukturách nezaměstnanosti od roku 1992. Důraz je kladen na věkovou a vzdělanostní strukturu nezaměstnaných. Zpracován je i vývoj struktury nezaměstnaných podle délky trvání nezaměstnanosti. Použitá data byla získána především z Českého statistického úřadu a Úřadu práce v Ústí nad Labem. Tabulky byly zpravidla zjednodušeny a pro názornost jsou data presentována v grafech. Podstatou je zjistit, zda struktury nezaměstnaných korespondují s demografickým vývojem okresu. Analýza odhalila, že znevýhodněni na trhu práce jsou především osoby s nízkým vzděláním a nezaměstnaní starší 50 let. Ve věkové struktuře nezaměstnaných se odráží demografický vývoj okresu a pozvolné stárnutí populace. Problémem je také rostoucí podíl dlouhodobě nezaměstnaných na celkovém počtu. Cesta ke snižování nezaměstnanosti regionu je podpora vzdělávání jeho obyvatel. Zároveň třeba podpořit ekonomický růst. Využít se dá výhoda příhraniční oblasti a mezinárodní spolupráce.

Abstract:

This thesis is aimed at the demographic development of Ústí nad Labem region since 1960's. It handles general demographic structure as well as age and education structure. It analyses the labor market and is focused on development of unemployment in former Usti nad Labem region. It also deals with changes in structure of unemployment since 1992. Its focus is in age and educational structure as well as development of unemployment structure based on its length. Data used for this analyze were collected mostly from Czech Statistical Office and Employment Bureau in Ústí nad Labem. The tables were simplified and charts are used to present the data. The goal is to verify if the structure of unemployment are connected with demographic development of the region. The results show that people with lower level of education and people over 50 have less chance on labor market. The age structure of unemployed reflects the demographic development of the region and increasing age of population. Another issue is the increasing percentage of long term unemployed out of the total number. The way to decrease the rate of unemployment of the region is to focus on and increase the level of education of the region. At the same time it is necessary to keep the economic growth of the region. The fact that the area is a border region and cross-border cooperation can be used as an advantage and help.
