Prediction of excess quantities of hexane, cyclohexane, and isooctane ternary mixture by cubic equation of state

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá experimentálním měřením fyzikálních veličin (hustota, viskozita a rychlost zvuku) pro ternární směsi obsahující hexan, isooktan a cyklohexan při teplotách 20 °C až 55 °C. Získaná data byla použita k výpočtu dodatkových veličin, jako je dodatkový objem, rozdíl viskozit, dodatková aktivační Gibbsova energie viskózního toku a dodatková adiabatická kompresibilita. Výsledky ukazují závislosti těchto veličin na přídavku hexanu a na teplotě, přičemž byly pozorovány a vyhodnoceny odchylky od ideálního chování. Dále byly vytvořeny ternární plochy a diskutováno použití teoretických modelů pro predikci těchto systémů. Práce přispívá k lepšímu porozumění chování ternárních směsí, rozvoji teoretických modelů a jejich následnému použití.

Abstract:

This work focuses on the experimental measurement of physical properties (density, viscosity, and sound velocity) for ternary mixtures containing hexane, isooctane, and cyclohexane at temperatures ranging from 20°C to 55°C. The obtained data were used to calculate additional quantities such as excess volume, viscosity difference, excess activation Gibbs energy of viscous flow, and excess adiabatic compressibility. The results reveal dependencies of these properties on the hexane content and temperature, with deviations from ideal behavior being observed and evaluated. Furthermore, ternary surfaces were constructed, and the utilization of theoretical models for predicting these systems was discussed. This work contributes to a better understanding of the behavior of ternary mixtures, the development of theoretical models, and their subsequent application.
