New Types of Romantic Relationships Through the Eyes of Young People

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá dynamiku partnerských vztahů mezi mladými lidmi v současném století a analyzuje, jak nové formy partnerských vztahů ovlivňují jejich vznik a rozpad. Zaměřuje se zejména na nové trendy v partnerských vztazích a postoje mladých lidí ve věku 18-30 let k těmto trendům. Metodologická část práce využívá rozhovorů s mladými lidmi, zejména pak jejich vlastní zkušenosti, postoje či názory na danou problematiku. Mladí lidé stále méně vstupují do “tradičních“ vážných vztahů a méně často uzavírají manželství, a tak vzniká prostor pro vznik různých alternativních forem milostných vztahů, které se od “tradičních“ vztahů již určitým způsobem odlišují. Práce tedy podrobněji popisuje a srovnává nové typy romantických i ne-romantických vztahů, stejně tak jako jejich původ a co mělo či má na změnu vztahů vliv až do současné doby.

Abstract:

The thesis examines the dynamics of relationships among young people in the contemporary century and analyses how new forms of partnerships influence their formation and dissolution. It focuses particularly on emerging trends in partnership dynamics and the attitudes of young individuals aged 18-30 towards these trends. The methodological section of the thesis employs interviews with young people, specifically exploring their own experiences, attitudes, and opinions on the subject matter. Young people are increasingly less inclined to enter “traditional” serious relationships and less frequently opt for marriage, thus creating space for various alternative forms of romantic relationships, which differ somewhat from “traditional” ones. Therefore, the thesis elaborates on and compares new types of romantic and non-romantic relationships, as well as delves into the origins of partnership and the factors contributing to their evolution up to the present day.
