Europol 's Role in Ensuring the Internal Security of the European Union

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá Evropským policejním úřadem (Europolem) a jeho rolí při zajišťování vnitřní bezpečnosti Evropské unie. Hlavním cílem této práce je popsat vývoj spolupráce Europolu s jednotlivými členskými státy i třetími zeměmi a dále popsat spolupráci Europolu s Českou republikou prostřednictvím odboru mezinárodní policejní spolupráce Policejního prezidia. Diplomová práce se člení na část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části je popsána historie Europolu, úkoly Europolu v současnosti a strukturální organizace Europolu. Dále jsou zde popsány úkoly a jednotky Europolu. V závěru teoretické části práce je následně popsána spolupráce Europolu s ostatními Evropskými subjekty. Praktická část práce se zabývá popisem spolupráce Europolu s jednotlivými členskými státy i třetími zeměmi, spoluprací Europolu s Českou republikou a v závěru budoucností Europolu. Tato práce vznikla na základě kvantitativního výzkumu, za použití metody dedukce, analýzy a syntézy z uvedené odborné literatury.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the European Police Office (Europol) and its role in ensuring the internal security of the European Union. The main goal of this work is to describe the development of Europol's cooperation with individual Member States and third countries and to further describe Europol's cooperation with the Czech Republic through the Department of International Police Cooperation of the Police Presidium. The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the history of Europol, Europol's current tasks and Europol's structural organizations. Europol's tasks and units are also described. At the end of the theoretical part of the work, the cooperation of Europol with other European entities is described. The practical part of the thesis deals with the description of Europol's cooperation with individual Member States and third countries, Europol's cooperation with the Czech Republic and at the end of the future of Europol. This work was created on the basis of quantitative research, using the method of deduction, analysis and synthesis from the literature.
