Předkládaná diplomová práce je představením přístupu současných autorů k aktuálnímu stavu Kypru a jeho historickému vývoji druhé poloviny 20. století. The thesis focuses on the Cyprus conflict and its consequences as perceived by selected contemporary authors, whose works have been published in the literary journal Cadences: A journal of literature and arts in Cyprus, issued by the European University Cyprus.
