Simulation of the duration of the project in the area of IT

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá jak teoreticky, tak i prakticky analýzou IT projektu služba Road Control, která slouží převážně pro logistické společnosti. V teoretické části jsou definovány základní pojmy a metody síťové analýzy. V praktické části je projekt rozdělen na jednotlivé činnosti a skupiny činností. Pomocí metody MPM je v MS Project provedena časová analýza, nákladová analýza a analýza zdrojů. Projekt je dále analyzován pomocí metod CPM, PERT a upravené metody PERT. Následně je v MS Excel simulována doba trvání projektu a zjišťuje se, zdali upravená metoda PERT konverguje k základní metodě PERT. Nakonec jsou výsledky vzájemně porovnány.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with both theoretical and practical analysis of an IT project Road Control service, which is used mainly by logistics companies. In the theoretical part there are defined basic concepts and methods of network analysis. In the practical part, the project is divided into individual activities and groups of activities. By using MPM method in MS Project is performed time analysis, cost analysis and analysis of resources. The project is further analyzed using the methods CPM, PERT and modified PERT. A simulation of the project duration is further performed in MS Excel to prove the convergence of the modified PERT method the basic PERT method. Finally all the results are compared.
