The aim of this thesis is to organise the debate around Anthony Giddens’s structuration theory, introduce individual critics‘ views and judge their effects in respect of the theory’s relevance. Cieľom bakalárskej práce je zmapovať sekundárnu diskusiu venovanú teórii štrukturácie Anthonyho Giddensa, predstaviť jednotlivé kritické názory a posúdiť, aké sú ich dôsledky pre relevantnosť tejto teórie. Práca sa okrem iného zameriava aj na otázky prekonania dichotómie akcie a štruktúry, užitočnosti teoretického rámca Giddensovej teórie a štýlu tvorby jeho diela.
