Sirné bakterie jsou extrémně acidofilní, jejichž metabolickým produktem je kyselina sírová. Za těchto podmínek pH dochází obvykle k hydrolýze agaru, přičemž vznikající organické látky negativně ovlivňují bakteriální autotrofní růst. Abstract:
Sulfur-oxidizing bacteria are extremely acidophilic whose the final metabolic product is sulfuric acid. Under these pH conditions, an agar is generally hydrolyzed, while occurring organic products negatively affect bacterial autotrophic growth.
