Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na nezdvořilost v sérii Harry Potter. Skládá se z teoretického rámce založeného na výzkumu J. Culpepera v této věci a využití tohoto rámce při praktické analýze dialogů mezi Harrym Potterem a profesorem Severusem Snapem. Série knih poskytuje četné výskyty, které zahrnují tento lingvistický rys v dialozích těchto fiktivních postav. Kromě toho se tato práce zaměřuje na identifikaci typů a kategorií nezdvořilosti, které jsou přítomné v knihách, a také na vývoj používání těchto rysů postavami.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the impoliteness in the Harry Potter series. It consists of the theoretical framework based on J. Culpeper’s research on the matter and the use of this framework on the practical analysis of the dialogues between Harry Potter and Professor Severus Snape. The book series provide multiple occurrences that include this linguistic feature in the dialogues of these fictional characters. Additionally, this thesis aims its focus on identifying the types and categories of impoliteness that are present in the books as well as the development of the use of these features by the characters.
