Reflection of works and pedagogical action of Vitezslav Novak in his student´s works

Abstract:

Tato disertační práce pojednává o Vítězslavu Novákovi, významném skladateli a pedagogovi, a též o jeho žácích, kteří u něj skladbu studovali. Nejprve je zde stručně nastíněn Novákův životopis a také rysy Novákovy pedagogické činnosti. Důležitou součástí práce je však rozbor některých skladeb Vítězslava Nováka spolu s rozborem skladeb jeho žáků. Cílem práce je nalézt společné a výrazně odlišné znaky v tvorbě Nováka a jeho žáků. Z toho důvodu jsou zde analyzovány pouze ty skladby, u nichž se tyto charakteristické znaky nacházejí.

Abstract:

The doctoral thesis deals with a great composer and pedagogue Vitezslav Novak, as well as with Novak´s disciples. At first there is briefly described Novak´s biography together with features of his pedagogical work. Analysis of some of Novak´s and his disciples´ pieces forms an important part of the thesis the aim of which is to find both common and different hallmarks in Novak´s and his disciples´ work. For that reason there are analysed only those pieces in which these characteristic features occur.
