Tracing the History of the Red Cross

Abstract:

Téma bakalářské práce nese název Po stopách historie Červeného kříže. Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na historické události vedoucí k založení Červeného kříže a jeho význam ve společnosti. Z historického hlediska poukazuje na postavení Červeného kříže v období II. světové války, i na úskalí, kterým musel Červený kříž čelit po roce 1948. Hlavním cílem je seznámit čtenáře s osobnostmi, které se podílely na vzniku i rozvoji Červeného kříže, poukázat na hlavní činnost Červeného kříže a popsat významnou roli dobrovolné sestry v oblasti ošetřovatelské péče. Práce byla zpracována jako kvalitativní výzkum, během kterého byla sbírána data od roku 1863 do současnosti, zachycující významná historická fakta zapadající do kontextu tématu této bakalářské práce. Provedenou analýzou dokumentů bylo zjištěno, že postavení Červeného kříže bylo pro společnost velkým přínosem a jeho „Síla humanity“ je zachována dodnes.

Abstract:

The topis of the bachelor thesis is entitled Tracing the History of the Red Cross. This bachelor thesis focuses on historical events leading to the establishment of the Red Cross and its importance in society. From a historical point of view, it points to the position of the Red Cross in the period of Second World War. The main goal is to acquaint readers with the personalities involved in the creation and development of the Red Cross, to point out the main activities of the Red Cross and to describe the important role of the volunteer nurse in nursing care. The work was processed as a qualitative research, during which data were collected from 1863 to the present, capturing important historical facts, fitting into the context of the topic of this bachelor thesis. An analysis of the documents revealed that the position of the Red Cross was of great benefit to society and its "Power of Humanity" is preserved to this day.
