Ambient Intelligence - Technology and Implications for Business and Public Administration

Abstract:

Tato práce se soustřeďuje na oblast ambientní inteligence. Představuje základní myšlenky a požadavky, jež jsou na tento koncept kladeny. Ambientní inteligence je zde uvedena do kontextu s příbuznými oblastmi výzkumu. Práce se dále věnuje v současnosti existujícím aplikacím ambientní inteligence v základních oblastech -- dům, péče o zdraví, vzdělání, transport a obchod. Navrhuje se nový scénář možného použití v oblasti nakupování v supermarketu a diskutují se jeho přínosy a omezení. Součástí práce je i krátká diskuze o rizicích ambientní inteligence, jak je představila pracovní skupina SWAMI.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the area of ambient intelligence. The basic ideas behind the concept are defined together with the main requirements on it. Ambient intelligence is also put in the context of related research areas. The current state of existing applications of ambient intelligence in various fields is described, namely home, health care, education, transportation and commerce. A new possible application scenario in the field of grocery shopping is suggested followed by the discussion of its benefits and limitations. The thesis also briefly discusses risks related to ambient intelligence as suggested by the SWAMI group.
