The tools of effective internal communicaton in times of social networks.

Abstract:

V současné době zahrnuje pojem komunikace mnoho druhů sdílení informací a samotná efektivita pak spočívá v umění porozumění jednotlivým složkám komunikačního procesu a ve správném použití komunikačních nástrojů. Je zapotřebí si uvědomit, že současné myšlení lidí se značně liší od myšlení předchozích generací a s tím souvisí i změna komunikačních kanálů a způsob komunikace. Původní myšlení lidí vycházelo z nastaveného pořádku, zatímco dnešní svět je nezorganizovaný a komplexní. Dříve existoval konečný počet elementů, který na sebe vzájemně působil, avšak v současnosti je neomezený počet elementů ve velkém propojeném stylu. V minulosti byly podmínky předvídatelné, avšak v současnosti je vysoký stupeň nepředvídatelnosti. Je více než zřetelné, že lidstvo učinilo velký krok od dob konce světové války a nadnárodní korporace, organizace a sdružení mají větší vliv, než samotné vlády. Je jen otázka, do jaké míry se svět bude propojovat dál a jak se myšlení lidí a komunikace posunou v příštích desetiletích. Předmětem zkoumání kvalifikační práce je způsob interní komunikace a využívané vnitřní nástroje, zejména pak rozbor komunikačních kanálů napříč generacemi, efektivnost komunikačních procesů a způsob využití v současné době. V rámci teoretické části zkoumám změnu myšlení lidí (podle výzkumu kanadského profesora Dona Tapscotta), rozdílnosti mezi generacemi baby boomers, X, Y a novou generací Z. Využívám k tomu zdroje internetových stránek o sociálním marketingu, ale i výzkum časopisu Forbes o nejmladší generaci Z. Kromě změny myšlení a rozdílných vlivů na jednotlivé generační skupiny zkoumám konkrétní komunikační nástroje těchto skupin a pokrok v této oblasti. Vyvozuji tak přetrvávající i nově vzniklé výzvy v celosvětové komunikaci na základě zdrojů oficiálních publikací OSN a internetové světové statistiky. Dále se zaměřuji na nástroje interní komunikace a sociální média. Interní komunikace je v Čechách stále poměrně na okraji zájmu. Málokde si lidé uvědomují, jak ohromná síla se v ní skrývá a jak může ovlivnit nejen atmosféru a vztahy na pracovišti, ale i samotné výsledky organizace. Z tohoto důvodu jsem si vybrala interní komunikaci jako předmět zkoumání v praktické části své práce. Empirická část této diplomové práce se zaměřuje na interní komunikaci mezi studenty fakulty mezinárodních vztahů Vysoké školy ekonomické a vedením, které studentům informace předává. Zaměřuji se na internetový studentský portál ISIS, webové stránky, intranet, osobní přístup od učitelů po studijní referentky i na sociální média VŠE. Hodnotím míru využití i následnou efektivitu jednotlivých komunikačních kanálů. Na základě výsledků z dotazníkového šetření hodnotím dané hypotézy předpokládající různé využití a funkčnost komunikačních kanálů. Mým cílem je na základě výsledků tohoto výzkumu posoudit zvolené komunikační kanály, porovnat je, vyhodnotit efektivitu a v případě objevení nedostatků navrhnout možná řešení pro zlepšení této situace. Po vyhodnocení výzkumu byly stanoveny tyto hypotézy: Hypotéza I. Interní komunikační nástroje jako jsou ISIS, webové stránky a intranet jsou studenty efektivně využívány a dostávají se studentům díky nim správně a včas veškeré důležité informace, aktuality a podklady ke studiu. Hypotéza II. Osobní přístup učitelů a osobních referentek maximálně pomáhá řešení studijních záležitostí. Hypotéza III. Nejčastějším pomocníkem ve sdílení informací a materiálů je nyní již spíše sociální médium facebook, než oficiální sítě školy.

Abstract:

Nowadays, the term of communication includes many types of information sharing and the efficiency of this process is the art of understanding the individual components of the communication process and the proper use of communication tools. It is necessary to be aware of the change of the current people thinking which differs considerably from the previous generations and it relates to the change of communication channels and means of communication. Former thinking of people was based on a set order, while the world today is disorganized and complex. Formerly, there was a finite number of elements that interacted with each other, but there is an unlimited number of elements in a large interconnected style nowadays. There were predictable conditions in the past but there is a high degree of unpredictability today. It is more than obvious that mankind made a big step since the end of World War II and multinational corporations, organizations and associations have a greater influence than the government itself. It is just a matter of discussion to which extent the world will be interconnected in future and how people thinking and communication shift in the coming decades. The subject matter of this thesis is the way of internal communication and used internal tools, especially the analysis of the channels of communication across generations, the effectiveness of communication processes and ways of using nowadays. In the theoretical part, I would like to investigate a change in human thinking (according to research by the Canadian professor Don Tapscott), the differences between the baby boomers, X, Y and new generation Z. My used sources are the websites on social marketing and also the research of magazine Forbes about the youngest generation Z. Besides the change in thinking and different effects on different generational groups I examine specific communication tools of these groups and progress in this area. I draw current and also new challenges arising from the global communication based on resources from United Nations´ official publications and the World Internet Statistics. Furthermore, I am focusing on the internal communication tools and social media. Internal communications is still relatively marginalized in the Czech Republic. Few people realize how great power is hidden within communication and how it can affect not only the atmosphere and relationships in the workplace but also the actual results of the organization. For this reason I chose internal communication as a subject of research in the practical part. The empirical part of this thesis focuses on internal communication among students of the Faculty of international relations of the University of Economics in Prague and the leadership, which share information to the students. I will focus on the online student portal ISIS, intranet, personal approach of teachers and on social media of this Faculty. I evaluate the use of the channels and subsequent effectiveness of communication channels. Based on the results of the survey I will evaluate the hypothesis which presuppose different use and functionality of communication channels. My goal is to assess the selected communication channels based on the results of this research, compare them, evaluate the efficiency and in case of weaknesses suggest possible solutions to improve the situation. Hypothesis I: Tools of Internal communication such as ISIS, website and internet are used effectively by students and students receive through them properly and in a time all relevant information, news and documents to study. Hypothesis II. Personal approach of teachers and officials helps in solving students matters. Hypothesis III. The most helpful tools in sharing information and materials is now moreless social medium facebook than the official networks of the University.
