Cieľom diplomovej práce bolo zmapovanie problematiky auditu systému riadenia informačnej bezpečnosti (ISMS - Information Security Management System). Práca je rozdelená do piatich častí. V úvodnej časti práce autor objasňuje význam pojmu audit, jednotlivé normy a zákony, ktoré upravujú audit v rámci Slovenskej republiky, ale aj Európskej únie a uvádza prehľad jednotlivých typov auditu.
