Identification of Persons Using Microsatellite Analysis
Abstract:
Mikrosatelity jsou opakující se nukleotidové sekvence, které jsou využívány v mnoha odvětvích molekulární biologie a genetiky jako nástroj pro identifikaci osob či zvířat. Zároveň se ovšem může jednat o možné příčiny některých neurodegenerativních onemocnění. Tato práce popisuje původ mikrosatelitů, jejich význam, možné použití a metody jejich analýzy.
Abstract:
Microsatellites are repeating nucleotid sequences, that are used in many different branches of molecular biology and genetics as a tool for identification of persons and animals. They are also possible cause of some neurodegenerative diseases. This work describes the origin of microsatellites, their significance and possible uses, while also describing methods of their analysis.
