Government bonds and monetary policy interest rates

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na ekonomické fundamenty, které ovlivňují výnosnost krátkodobých, střednědobých a dlouhodobých státních dluhopisů. Nastíníme práci dalších autorů, kteří se věnují této problematice a poukazují na to, že nejvýznamnější vliv na úrokovou míru státních dluhopisů má centrální banka dané země. Ve výsledcích našeho modelu potvrzujeme jejich hypotézu o vlivu 2T repo sazeb na úrokové míry krátkodobých a střednědobých dluhopisů i dlouhodobých dluhopisy. Dalším faktem je, že 2T repo sazba nebyla jediná důležitá proměnná, ale výsledek našeho modelu poukázal na vliv meziroční změny vývoje HDP, které byly významné ve všech typech vysvětlovaných dluhopisů.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the economic fundamentals that affect the profitability of short-, medium- and long-term government bonds. We will outline the work of other authors, who are dedicated to this issue and pointed out that the most significant effect on the interest rate of government bonds has the central bank of the country. In the results of our model, we confirm their hypothesis about the impact of 2T repo rates on interest rates on short and medium-term bonds and long-term bonds. Another fact is that the 2T repo rate was not the only important variable, but the outcome of our model pointed to the influence of the year-on-year changes in GDP that were significant in all types of covered bonds.
