Spiritual and religious needs of seniors in residental social service

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na téma duchovních a náboženských potřeb seniorů v pobytové sociální službě. Cílem práce je zjistit a popsat, jaké jsou duchovní a náboženské potřeby seniorů v pobytové sociální službě. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a výzkumnou. Teoretická část se zabývá popisem stáří, stárnutí, jeho změn, periodizací stáří, zdravotní a sociální péčí o seniory, vymezuje pojmy spiritualita, religiozita. Dále je v teoretické části popsána spirituální a pastorační péče, duchovní doprovázení, duchovní a náboženské potřeby seniorů, jejich indikace, metody zjišťování, dokumentace a také způsoby naplňování těchto potřeb. Cílem výzkumné části práce je zjistit a popsat, jaké jsou duchovní a náboženské potřeby seniorů v pobytové sociální službě. Dílčími cíli je zjistit a popsat, jak tyto potřeby senioři interpretují, jak jsou naplňovány a jaký vliv má naplňování těchto potřeb na jejich psychickou pohodu. K naplnění těchto cílů je zvolena kvalitativní výzkumná strategie a pro sběr dat technika polostrukturovaných rozhovorů realizovaných s klienty pobytové sociální služby. Data jsou analyzována otevřeným kódováním a interpretována výzkumnou metodou vytvářením trsů. Poslední kapitola je věnována shrnutí výsledků realizovaného výzkumu a odpovědím na hlavní a dílčí výzkumné otázky.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of spiritual and religious needs of seniors in residential social service. The aim of the thesis is to find out and describe what are the spiritual and religious needs of seniors in residential social service. The thesis is divided into theoretical and research parts. The theoretical part deals with the description of old age, aging, its changes, periodization of old age, health and social care for the elderly, defines the concepts of spirituality, religiosity. Furthermore, the theoretical part describes spiritual and pastoral care, spiritual accompaniment, spiritual and religious needs of the elderly, their indications, methods of identification, documentation and also ways of fulfilling these needs. The aim of the research part of the thesis is to identify and describe the spiritual and religious needs of seniors in residential social service. The sub-objectives are to find out and describe how these needs are interpreted by seniors, how they are fulfilled, and what effect the fulfillment of these needs has on their psychological well-being. To meet these objectives, a qualitative research strategy has been chosen and a semi-structured interview technique conducted with clients of the residential social service has been used for data collection. The data have been analyzed by open coding and interpreted by the research method of clustering. The last chapter is devoted to the summary of the results of the conducted research and answers to the main and sub-research questions.
