Tahar Ben Jelloun : Between the tradition and the modernity

Abstract:

The topic of the diploma thesis is the confrontation of the tradition and modernity in the work of morrocan francophone writer Tahar Ben Jelloun. After outlining of historic context of Morroco in the 20. century, the thesis present the literature of this periode. Then introduce the life and the work of Tahar Ben Jelloun. In three romans (Harrouda, L’Enfant de Sable a Partir) analyses three issues that create the pillar of the main theme : position of woman, the religion and the relation between the eastern and western society. The objectif of the thesis is to find out if the morrocan society of Tahar Ben Jelloun is tend toward the tradition or to modernity.

Abstract:

Témou tejto bakalárskej práce je stret tradícií a modernosti v literárnom diele marockého frankofónneho spisovatela Tahar Ben Jellouna. Po načrtnutí historického kontextu Maroka 20. storočia, práca predstavuje literatúru tohto obdobia. Plynule nadväzuje na život a tvorbu Tahar Ben Jellouna. V troch vybraných románoch (Harrouda, L’Enfant de Sable a Partir) analyzuje tri problematiky tvoriace piliere hlavnej témy práce : postavenie ženy, náboženstvo a vzťah medzi východnou a západnou spoločnosťou. Práca si dáva za cieľ zistiť, či sa marocká spoločnosť v Ben Jellounovej tvorbe prikláňa skôr k tradíciám alebo k modernosti.
