The effects of respiratory physiotherapy in patients with idiopathic scoliosis.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřená na problematiku idiopatické skoliózy, která zapříčiňuje postižení pohybového aparátu a sekundárně postihuje i systém kardiopulmonální. V teoretické části jsou zahrnuty informace týkající se funkční anatomie páteře, dále je zde popsána skolióza, její etiologie, včetně diagnostiky a léčby. Velká část práce popisuje také vztah a souvislosti skoliózy s respiračním systémem a postižení jeho funkcí v důsledku tohoto onemocnění. Praktická část práce se zabývá výzkumným šetřením, ve kterém bude zjišťováno, zdali dojde po terapii ke zlepšení dechových funkcí. Samotná terapie při výzkumu bude zaměřena na skupinu pacientů s idiopatickou skoliózou ve věku od 12-16 let. Při respirační fyzioterapii bude využita respirační pomůcka zvaná PARI O-PEP. Od jejího výsledku bude očekáváno zlepšení plicních funkcí zkoumané skupiny pacientů. Výsledky také poskytnou informace o používání této pomůcky a nabídnou pozitiva a negativa respirační autoterapie.

Abstract:

This final thesis is focused on the resulting issues of idiopathic scoliosis, which affects the musculoskeletal apparatus and secondly the cardiopulmonary system. The theoretical section includes information regarding the functional anatomy of the spine, in addition scoliosis is described, its etiology, including diagnostics and treatment. A large portion of the thesis also describes the relationships and connections of scoliosis with the respiratory system and the affects on its functions as a consequence of this illness. The practical section deals with research on whether an improvement in respiratory function will be found. During the research the therapy itself will focus on a group of patients with idiopathic scoliosis aged 12 to 16. During respiratory physiotherapy the respiratory tool called PARIO O-PEP will be used, and from its results an improvement of lung function in the researched group of patients will be expected. The results will also provide information on using this respiratory tool and will offer the pros and cons of respiratory autotherapy.
