Přemysl Margrave of Moravia

Abstract:

Cílem předložené diplomové práce je vytvoření biografie moravského markraběte Přemysla. V první části autor rozebírá problematiku historických pramenů, ve kterých se markrabě Přemysl vyskytuje. Následně je v diplomové práci analyzováno dětství moravského markraběte a není opomenut ani rozbor jeho jména. Autor se zde zabývá také problematikou směřování Přemyslovy výchovy k budoucí kariéře, popřípadě motivacemi k uzavření sňatku s Markétou Meránskou. V další části diplomové práce je rozebírána politická kariéra moravského markraběte, především jeho vztah k rakouskému vévodovi Fridrichovi II. a českému králi Václavovi I. Důraz je kladen převážně na oba konflikty mezi Přemyslem a Václavem. V diplomové práci rovněž nechybí kapitoly analyzující správu moravského markrabství, markraběcí kancelář a dvůr či Přemyslův vztah k církevním institucím a řádům. V souvislosti s tím autor neopomíná rozebrat privilegia pro olomoucké biskupství a velehradský klášter, které posloužily jako vzor pro udělení imunit jiným klášterům. Diplomová práce rovněž analyzuje péči markraběte Přemysla o moravská města, především o Uničov. Na závěr se autor snaží postihnout rozsah moci a kompetencí moravského markraběte v průběhu třicátých let 13. století.

Abstract:

The aim of the submitted thesis is to create a biography of the Moravian margrave Přemysl. In the first part, the author discusses the issue of historical sources in which Margrave Přemysl appears. Subsequently, the childhood of the Moravian margrave is analyzed in the diploma thesis, and the analysis of his name is not left out. Here, the author also deals with the issue of the direction of Přemysl's upbringing towards his future career, or the motivations for concluding a marriage with Markéta Meránská. In the next part of the thesis, the political career of the Moravian margrave is discussed, especially his relationship with the Austrian Duke Friedrich II. and the Czech king Wenceslas I. The emphasis is mainly on both conflicts between Přemysl and Wenceslas. The thesis also includes chapters analyzing the administration of the Moravian margrave, the margrave's office and court, or Přemysl's relationship to church institutions and orders. In connection with this, the author does not neglect to analyze the privileges for the Olomouc bishopric and the Velehrad monastery, which served as a model for granting immunities to other monasteries. The diploma thesis also analyzes Margrave Přemysl's care for Moravian cities, especially Uničov. In conclusion, the author tries to capture the extent of the power and competence of the Moravian margrave during the thirties of the 13th century.
