Education of convicts serving a custodial sentence

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zpracována na téma „Vzdělávání odsouzených ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody“. Diplomovou práci jsem rozdělila na dvě části. První část je teoretická a druhá praktická. Cílem práce je přiblížit co nejvíce problematiku vzdělávání odsouzených se zaměření na školská vzdělávací střediska. Nejprve jsem zvolila nastínění základních pojmů týkajících se tématu práce dále jsem shrnula stručně historii Vězeňské služby ČR a vzdělávaní odsouzených ve 20. století. V dalších kapitolách jsem shrnula Vězeňskou službu ČR a výkon trestu odnětí svobody a následně jsem se zaměřila na vzdělávání odsouzených kde jsem se rozhodla zaměřit se na současnost vzdělávání odsouzených v jednotlivých vzdělávacích střediscích. Druhá část je praktická, která je rozdělena do dvou kapitol a zabývá se blízkou minulostí vzdělávání odsouzených. V první části se zabývám především porovnáváním školských vzdělávacích středisek v nabídce kurzů a učebních oborů. V druhé části se zabývám především tím, jaký měla vliv pandemie Covidu 19 na vzdělávání odsouzených.

Abstract:

This master thesis is elaborated on the topic "Education of convicted prisoners in custody". I have divided the thesis into two parts. The first part is theoretical and the second is practical. The aim of the thesis is to present as much as possible the issue of education of convicts with a focus on educational centres. First I chose to outline the basic concepts related to the topic of the thesis then I briefly summarized the history of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic and the education of convicts in the 20th century. In the following chapters I summarised the Prison Service of the Czech Republic and the execution of imprisonment and then I focused on the education of convicts where I chose to focus on the present day education of convicts in the different education centres. The second part is the practical part which is divided into two chapters and deals with the recent past of convict education. In the first part, I am primarily concerned with comparing the education centres in terms of course offerings and teaching disciplines. In the second part, I am primarily concerned with the impact that the Covid 19 pandemic had on the education of convicts.
