This thesis deals with the possibilities of preparing pregnant women for delivery. It is divided into two parts, a theoretical and an empirical one. The theoretical part focuses on preparing the birth canal for giving birth, on the types of childbirth, as well as on the positions that mothers-to-be can adopt in the first and second phase of labour.
