Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to study the topic of online career counseling on the example of VSE students. The key research question is: do VSE students have a need for an online career counseling tool, i.e. website? To find an answer to this question it was decided to create a prototype of a web-service which will be an example of what online career counseling can be. The questions and answers were taken from websites, created by professional career counselor. The main goal is to see if the website for career counseling can be implemented at VSE. The methodology is the following: conduct a theory review, make a survey among students to understand their opinion on having such a service as an online career counseling tool in VSE, create a prototype and collect their feedback on that. Overall, 117 people answered the questionnaire and the results showed that students have a need for such digital service, however, there are many aspects to be developed in future version of website.
