The Development of Manchester during the Industrial Revolution

Abstract:

This work is focused on the development of Manchester during the Industrial Revolution where I shortly outline the causes and results of the Industrial Revolution, I pay attention to working conditions in mills and the lives of peasants, I concentrate on inventions in textile industry, which helped to make the production faster. I also concentrate on the development of the town from the beginning to the present where I devote most of the space to the 18th and the 19th centuries when the greatest development took place. I focus on the developments in traffic: canals, coaches, railway, omnibus transport, trams and cars, and I in education, to crime, health and the development of streets in Manchester. I shortly touch the destruction of parts of Manchester during the Second World War and IRA bombing attacks. This work is supplemented with pictures that illustrate the text.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na vývoj Manchesteru během průmyslové revoluce, kde okrajově načrtnu vývoj a důsledky průmyslové revoluce, zaměřuji se na podmínky v továrnách a život občanů této doby a na vynálezy v textilním průmyslu, které sloužily k urychlení textilní výroby. Dále se soustředím na rozvoj města od jeho počátku až do současnosti, kde nejvíce času věnuji 18. a 19. století, kdy se uskutečnil největší rozvoj města. Zaměřuji se na vývoj dopravy: kanály, dopravníky, železnici, autobusovou dopravu, tramvaje a auta. Dále se soustředím na vzdělání, criminalitu, zdraví a vývoj ulic v Manchesteru. Taktéž se krátce věnuji zničení částí Manchesteru za druhé světové války a bombových útoků IRA. Práce je doplněna ilustracemi pro snadnější představu.
